UNLIMITED TRAINING STUDENT P1 - P4 COMBINED PARAGLIDING PILOT PROGRAM (WITHOUT GEAR)

**If you choose to forgo purchasing gear before you begin P2 training, you can instead pay $3,100 for the LIFETIME STUDENT Combo Package.** This package allows for the same training, as advertised as above, but without the responsibility of purchasing gear before the completion of your P2. Please note: If you continue to your P3 rating, you will need independent flights at P2 mountain sites in order to be considered complete for your P3 training. You will need your own gear to progress in this sport.

P1 BEGINNER PARAGLIDING PILOT TRAINING PROGRAM

P1 (Beginner) This program takes you from your first day of learning to the point where you can launch and land a paraglider with confidence in simple soaring conditions. The program provides emphasis: Ground Handling Skills (kiting, canopy control, cross wind, light wind, and strong winds, inflation and deflation techniques) Launching (Forward and Reverse) Landing (Aircraft style approaches, Figure 8’s, S-turns) Flying Skills (flat turns, banked turns, flight at trim speed, minimum sink, best glide) Understanding of: Preflight Checklists Aerodynamics Meteorology Equipment maintenance & care Risk Management Site Analysis & Flight Planning Flying in lift, sink, thermals, turbulence The program provides the introduction to most aspects of a paragliding flight, with an emphasis on ground handling, confident and controlled launches, and smooth landings! The P1 program is perfect for the new pilot that is interested in trying out the sport. The program is designed as a prerequisite to the P2 (Novice) certification. Warning The P1 program provides just enough knowledge and skill to be dangerous if unsupervised. Please do not attend a P1 training program and assume you are a competent pilot upon completion. The United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) require all P1 rated pilots to fly under constant instructor supervision!

P2 BASIC PARAGLIDING PILOT PROGRAM

This certification program adds to the skills acquired in the P1 certification. The Max Acro Paragliding P2 program will teach you the fundamentals of flight and provide you with the skills, knowledge and ability to make decisions as the Pilot in Command. The 15-20 day program will provide you with beginner and intermediate training in launching, landing, soaring flights, thermal flights, basic cross country skills, and tandem flights with more experienced instructors. The training curriculum is approximately 160 hours and includes: All ushpa required hours of classroom theory on topics such as: Basic & advanced meteorology, aerodynamics, site analysis, flight planning, equipment, risk management, flight maneuvers & dynamics, ridge soaring, thermal flight, cross country flights, and many more. Unlimited hours of field instruction include: Basic & advanced launch techniques, landing techniques, reserve usage & deployments, advanced ground handling, speed control, turning, etc. Additional hours of flight instruction include: Turning Basic and advanced flight maneuvers Flights in wind, ridge soaring, and dynamic lift, mountain flights in thermals, beginner cross country training Flights on the coast, in the mountains, over flatlands & deserts, and from tow winches weather permitting 35 flights from a variety of different flying sites Descent techniques (big ears, whip stalls, crabbing, accelerated flights)

P3 PILOT CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM

Need the radio support, additional instruction days, or just generally “an adult” for a little while you go from a P2 to a P3 rating? We can help! Our P3 Continuing Education Class is just that and we are here to help. P3 gets you up over that 100 flight mark and onto the next level of your paragliding education. (This class is for students that took their prior training elsewhere and are not members of the lifetime student program)
